Reflective Writing

My success this week Is doing the media studies because it was really fun and I thought I did really good with the drama acting and doing the ipad and we did it with Mr Cottrell. My other success is with technology because I think I did pretty well with the experiment we were doing the experiment rolling marbles on a kind of material and pulling the material down and it acted like a black hole.

My disappointment this week have been Not being able to do athletics as I am good at most sports and enjoy doing athletics. The reason is because at aims games 2016 I was playing football and I got elbowed in the leg and a 18 centimeter hematoma in my left thigh and it had calcified.

My goals for next week Is to get back into my reps training and to get selected for the federation trails because federation is the best of centrals football under 12 player and if I can get back into reps I will have more chance to make the trial squad. Next week I am looking forward to getting back into P.E because I haven't done P.E in ages because of my Injury

first day at Electronics

The get ready get thru website tells us there are 3 things we need to do to get ready for a disaster

1. Learn about disasters and how to keep safe
2. Create and practice a household emergency plan
3. Assemble and maintain emergency survival items

It says you need a torch with spare batteries in my survival item. I am going to make an emergency light at Electronics

My family would need 3 15 litre bottles

Year 7 Speeches

In inquiry we have been studying the incredible human machine and we did speeches and i did compartment syndrome because my brother got it.

1. Young people love to play sport and with some sports you have to be big and strong. But going to the gym isn't the best option. Compartment syndrome... do you know what it is, how common it it? well if you don't you are going to find out.

2. In my opinion I think people at this age should be Informed about this syndrome because it is very dangerous. This syndrome can leave you with huge scars on your arms, legs and all over your body and could be very life changing.

3. Compartment syndrome can be caused  by just going to the gym, working to hard with to much weight or even just going for really long. Why does going to the gym or going for runs gives you compartment syndrome, well compartment syndrome is a buildup of pressure in your compartments of your muscle. The forearms and the calfs are the main places but you can get it in any compartment in your body as i said before that is why it is called compartment syndrome.

4. It is important that if you get very sore pain in your compartments of your muscles for long times you should see a doctor. Compartment syndrome is something you could be born with. Your parents could have it but never of known, so you need to be careful. You could need surgery asap because if you leave it too late it will just get worse and worse. My brother got it and waited 3 days with very sore legs, so sore he could not stand up and walk. He ended up seeing a doctor and was rushed into surgery 2 hours later. When he got surgery he got his calf cut open and left open for 5 days to release the pressure, his legs were wrapped in bandages. He was then taught again how to walk as it gave his legs such a shock and he wasn’t aloud to walk for about 10 days. He now has big scars on the back of his legs which he will have forever. Luckily for him he got to a doctor just in time as he could of had parts of his leg removed.

5. In conclusion compartment syndrome is a very bad syndrome to have. It can leave you with two huge scars and after the surgery you may not walk for ages. So guys what im trying to say is be careful when exercising and be careful of your body because you may get compartment syndrome and end up with big scars on your legs for the rest of your life.
